  In a market like Nepal where Google’s Pixel lineup of smartphones isn’t officially available, Nokia is the next best thing to experience stock Android. And the latest phone from the company in Nepal is the Nokia 2.4. It is the successor to last year’s Nokia 2.3 and brings a bigger display, an octa-core processor, among other upgrades.

  Talking about the display, Nokia 2.4 comes with a big 6.5-inches IPS LCD panel with a 1600 x 720 (HD+) resolution. Like most other budget phones, this one has a teardrop notch and a big chin as well. Here, while Nokia 2.3 boasted a quad-core Helio A22 SoC, the company has bumped into an octa-core Helio P22 on the 2.4. Similarly, you can now choose between 2 or 3GB of RAM and upto 64GB of internal storage.

  Cameras

  Getting to the cameras, it borrows the same lenses from its predecessor. You’re getting a 13MP primary sensor alongside a 2MP depth sensor at the back. These, alongside the LED flash, are enclosed inside a rectangular pill-shaped module. Upfront, there is a 5MP selfie camera inside the teardrop notch.

Memory-wise, the phone has 2GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 32GB of storage which can be expanded using a micro SD card; which has a dedicated slot by the way.   Decent gaming

  And with this combo, you’ll be able to play games like Asphalt 9, PUBG Mobile Lite (under low-medium settings), etc. with ease. Realme C11 has an attractive design as well thanks to the textured finish that we have seen in other phones from the company. The display on this phone is a 6.5-inch IPS LCD HD+ panel.

  Moving to the camera, it has two at the back, and one on the front. The primary sensor is a 13MP camera which is followed by a 2MP depth sensor. They’ve been arranged in a square module resembling Google’s Pixel 4 lineup. in terms of the battery, Realme C11 has a big 5000mAh cell which disappointingly charges via a micro USB cable and doesn’t support fast charging either.

• 4. Infinix Hot 9 Play

  

  Infinix is a relatively new player in the Nepalese smartphone market. However, the company recently launched two new phones in Nepal, one of which fits in our list of best phones under NPR 15000 in Nepal. Infinix Hot 9 Play has two highlighting features – a big display, and a big battery.

  First, let’s talk about its display. Hot 9 Play features a massive 6.82-inches TFT IPS panel which unfortunately only comes with HD+ resolution. We know how terrible a big display/low-resolution combo is and seeing Infinix walk straight into the pit feels disappointing. On top of the display is a small teardrop notch for the 8MP front camera and a single front flash. Moreover, the phone has minimal bezels all around, except for the bottom which sees a slightly thicker bezel.

  Big 6000mAh battery

  Powering the Infinix Hot 9 Play is a big 6000mAh battery. And according to the company, it can give you up to 34 days of standby time or 34 hours of talk time. This phone is also the one with the biggest battery in our list of best phones under NPR 15000 in Nepal. However, the company has gone with a tedious micro USB data/charging connection so filling up the phone’s juice is going to be time-taking.

  On the performance end, you get either Helio A22 or A25 depending on the memory configuration. Helio A22 powers the low-end 2/32GB variant while the latter can be found in the more capable 4/64GB option. The phone runs on Android 10 (Go Edition) and has a dual-camera setup at the back. It has a 13MP primary camera and a low-light sensor with a triple LED flash.

It is the first phone with a “C” suffix in the company’s entry-level Redmi series of smartphones. Additionally, it is also the only phone on this list to feature a triple rear camera setup, till now. For most parts, the phone is quite similar to the Realme C11 but offers a much better value for your money.

    You get a 6.53-inches IPS LCD display with an HD+ resolution which is to be expected on phones in this price range. Redmi 9C is also TUV Rheinland certified against blue light emission from the phone’s display. There’s a noticeable bottom bezel to authenticate its budget category while a teardrop notch houses the 5MP selfie camera.

    Bang for your buck!

    Talking about cameras, like I mentioned earlier, there are three of them enclosed inside a squarish module at the back. Redmi 9C has a 13MP primary, a 2MP macro, and finally a 2MP depth sensor for different kinds of shots. Powering the phone is MediaTek’s Helio G35 – the same as in Realme C11. This is further complemented by either 2/3GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage. Thankfully, both memory options of the Redmi 9C retail under NPR 15K.

    The phone runs on the latest MIUI 12 based on Android 10 out of the box. Other specs of the Redmi 9C include a 5000mAh battery with support for 18W (9V/2A) fast charging. However, you’ll only get a 10W charger inside the box. Also, Xiaomi has resorted to a Micro USB connection instead of a USB-C.

With the company’s recent entry into the Nepalese market, it was obviously going to ruffle some feathers. As a result, both of its products have managed to make their way into our list of best phones under their respective price points. Here, the POCO C3 is almost a carbon copy of the Redmi 9C just above it.

      The difference in the rebrand

      The major difference here is that while Redmi 9C came with a physical fingerprint scanner, the C3 skips it altogether. So, here, you’ll be relying on face unlock or other traditional biometric measures. Likewise, there is also this feature called “Better Battery 2.0”, which the company claims results in better battery health in the long run, compared to other smartphones. With this, POCO says the C3’s 5000mAh battery lasts 3.2 years without a hint of degradation.

      You get a 6.53-inches HD+ IPS LCD panel. It has a teardrop notch for the 5MP front-facing camera. At the back, you’ll find a triple-lens setup led by a 13MP primary sensor, which is complemented by a 2MP depth and a 2MP macro lens. The phone is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G35 SoC and POCO has gone with 3/4GB of RAM here. And because we believe the fingerprint sensor tradeoff for 1GB more RAM is a better deal, POCO C3 manages to engrave its name at a higher ranking than the Redmi 9C in our list of best phones under NPR 15000 in Nepal.

The phone has an attractive back panel. This textured design looks quite pleasant to look although it’s a regular plastic body.         Neck-and-neck

        Upfront, Samsung has installed a 6.5-inch PLS TFT LCD screen with an HD+ resolution. Although POCO C3’s IPS panel sounds better on paper, these two displays are neck-and-neck in terms of their quality. In terms of performance, find out how Samsung has optimized the Snapdragon 450 and it’s custom Android skin: One UI Core was quite surprising. Galaxy M02s is powered by a big 5000mAh battery that charges via a USB-C port. Disappointingly, although it supports 15W fast charging, Samsung only ships a 7.8W charging brick inside the box.
